    Membership

  • Consistent with my desire to take personal responsibility for my conduct as a member of NZ Parkour, I agree to abide by the principles contained in the “NZ Parkour Members Pledge” and the governing documents and policies of NZ Parkour.

    I recognise and understand that some NZ Parkour services and membership perks are facilitated by volunteers who may be unable able to operate in the same capacity as a paid employee. I release and discharge NZ Parkour, its governing board, officers, representatives, employees, agents and volunteers from any liability for the intentional or negligent acts or omissions of any NZ Parkour member or volunteer in my local community or elsewhere.

    By submitting this application, I agree to the collection, use and processing of the personal information I provided to NZ Parkour in this Membership Application for the purposes of organisation administration, payment of my fees and inclusion of my contact information in a members’ directory that will be available to members and staff of NZ Parkour. By submitting this information to NZ Parkour, I also agree that the information may be accessed and used by NZ Parkour and its staff and agents. I agree to notify contact@nzparkour.co.nz of any change to this information, including making any requests to check, delete or correct that information, so that it is accurate and current.

    I understand that the majority of the data requested in this application is necessary for administrative and planning purposes and will not be given or sold to third parties under any circumstances.

  • As a member of NZ Parkour, I pledge to:

    • - Do lots of parkour whenever I can and take responsibility for my actions and those in my care when participating in parkour
    • - Invite friends and family to try parkour and encourage them to support NZ Parkour
    • - Uphold the values of NZ Parkour and adhere to NZ Parkour rules and policies for - at least - the duration of my membership
    • - Inform NZ Parkour of any changes to my contact details if they change during the duration of my membership
    • - Attend NZ Parkour annual general meetings if I am able
    • - Pass on the true spirit of parkour at all times
  • Class Participation

  • Please make sure you understand your responsibilities before, during and after class:
    • • Promote an atmosphere of encouragement free of stress and ego.
    • • Respect and respond to directions received from instructors.
    • • Wear appropriate clothing and footwear to every class.
    • • Inform instructors of any injuries or health concerns that could affect your training ability.
    • • Inform instructors of any personal or witnessed injuries that occur during class.
    • • Inform instructors of any doubts concerning safety of obstacles, surfaces or areas being used for class.
    • • Treat instructors and all other participants with dignity and respect.
    • • Treat property owners, security and property with dignity and respect.
    • • Be aware of the surroundings, particularly other participants and avoid getting in the way.
    • • Be aware of the public and always give them the right of way.
    • • Ensure mental preparedness for all activities during class. If this is not the case, take time to refocus or stop training.
  • All students must bring these items with them to every class:
    • • Comfortable and appropriate clothing for exercise and weather conditions.
    • • Comfortable and appropriate shoes for exercise.
    • • A water bottle.
    • • Inhaler or medication (if applicable).
  • In agreeing to participate in parkour, I agree to the following:

    In agreeing to participate in NZ Parkour services, I agree to the following:

    I acknowledge and understand completely that parkour has (a) inherent risks, dangers and hazards and that these are present in my participation; (b) that the NZ Parkour coaches will never ask, require, or force me to do anything outside of my capabilities and that I am responsible for ensuring that I only do what I am comfortable with and able to perform safely; (c) I must listen to the coaches advice and warnings at all times; and (d) during participation I may sustain injuries or illnesses including, but not limited to physical and mental injury, brain injury, fractures, sprains/strains, partial or total paralysis, death and other medical issues that could cause serious disability.

    By allowing myself to participate in parkour I hereby assume all risks and dangers and all responsibility for any losses and/or damages.

    I, on behalf of myself and my personal representatives, hereby voluntarily agree to release, waive, defend, hold harmless, pardon, discharge, and indemnify NZ Parkour and all its staff and other members from any and all claims, losses or other actions for physical and emotional injury, property damage, and death or otherwise that may occur during my participation in parkour. I specifically understand that I am releasing, waiving, and discharging any claims or actions that I may have currently or in the future.

    I understand that NZ Parkour does not condone the irresponsible use of parkour or related disciplines, including illegal and dangerous activities such as trespassing or roof jumping.

    I understand that I am responsible for informing the instructors of any predisposing medical concerns that may adversely affect my ability to participate in training. I understand that if I develop any injuries or medical concerns during the course of participation in NZ Parkour services that I will inform the instructors. I understand that it is my responsibility to inform the instructors of any injuries that I sustain during NZ Parkour services.

    I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THE INFORMATION ABOVE AND BY SIGNING BELOW HEREBY RELEASE NZ PARKOUR AND ITS STAFF, INSTRUCTORS, VOLUNTEERS AND OTHER MEMBERS FROM ANY LIABILITY REGARDING PERSONAL INJURY, PROPERTY DAMAGE OR DEATH THAT MAY ARISE FROM MY PARTICIPATION.

    • • We leave the meet-up location promptly after class starts, so please drop off and pick up your child(ren) to and from class on time - if unable to do so, inform an instructor.
    • • Please inform instructors of the mode of transport your child(ren) will be using to get to and from class so that the instructors know and can let them go after class.
    • • If droping off and picking up your child(ren), do so in person at the designated meet-up location (available in the class details) so you can meet the instructors and ensure your child(ren) make it to and from your care safely.
    • • If you are not the person picking your child(ren) up after class or if they will be taking a different mode of transport, inform an instructor.
    • • Let an instructor know if your child(ren) will not be attending a class.
    • • We train rain or shine unless otherwise notified, so attendance is up to you and your child(ren).
  • Your child must bring these items with them to every class:
